Our Services

At Breath of Life, we are a group of professional caregivers who understand the emotions behind an unplanned pregnancy. We also know the challenges that making an adoption plan brings because each of us is either a birthparent, adoptive parent, or both!

We are called to care for expecting mothers who often have no one else to turn to during the most difficult time in their lives. We do this by providing support, counsel, resources, guidance, prayer, and encouragement, both before and following the birth and/or placement of their child.

If you are pregnant, scared, and need someone to come alongside you through this difficult journey, contact us today at (512) 200-4BOL or breathoflifeoffice@yahoo.com.

Are you wondering if you’re pregnant?

Are you wondering why your period hasn’t started? Are you feeling nauseous? If you’ve recently had unprotected (or maybe even protected) sex and your period is late, you might be pregnant.

Early pregnancy symptoms

According to the world-famous Mayo Clinic, there are several early pregnancy symptoms which could include:

  • Missed period
  • Tender, swollen breasts
  • Nausea with or without vomiting
  • Increased urination
  • Fatigue
  • Moodiness
  • Food aversions

Verifying your pregnancy

Even if you’ve taken an at-home pregnancy test, you’ll want to verify the results. It’s possible to get a false test result if the pregnancy test is taken too soon or the directions aren’t followed correctly. Pregnancy Resource Centers offer free pregnancy tests and often free ultrasound scanning too. Both of these are important to determine if you really are pregnant.

If you’re pregnant and in need, here’s how we can help you

Counseling

Our staff and volunteers truly value building relationships. We want to nurture and serve each mom according to her needs. Whether you require prenatal care, transportation to appointments, parenting advice, as well as adoption information, we’re here for you. Plus, we’ll still be there for labor, delivery, and the events that follow.

Shelter

Currently, we offer housing assistance based on individual needs via our maternity home “Sarah’s House”. Sarah’s House offers professional counseling, case management, mentoring, partnership with a drug/alcohol treatment program, and life skills training including nutrition, financial management, self-esteem, parenting, gardening, and cooking. Also, we maintain the only comprehensive list of maternity homes in Texas.

Our Services

Breath of Life is an Austin-based Christian maternity ministry that exists for the sole purpose of serving homeless pregnant women, age 18 and up, who have chosen to parent their child or plan for adoption. We not only help women prepare to care for their unborn child, but we also offer residential assistance, adoption services, and long-term support to help each woman recognize her value as a daughter of the King.

Experience

We use the knowledge, experience, and resources God gives us to prepare others for work in maternity ministry, too. We’ve worked with home directors in Morocco, Hong Kong, and India as well as provided on-site training for individuals and homes across the U.S., in the Ukraine, Romania, and Brazil.
